The first weekend in October was our first trial since April. We got to set up next to Debbie and her 4 dachshunds and she also had Ragni's 3 dachshunds to run. I had offered to be a wiener valet and feed her dogs when she had to run. The last run of the day was Veteran's Gamblers. I waited at the start line with her dogs while she took them one at a time out to run and qualify. One after the other. Qualifying. It was spectacular. Her dogs just lit up when she would come back to get the next one. Little squiggling packets of fun and love. Their smiles and the excitement in their eyes will be in my memory forever. I can still see the runs in my head. It was the most fun I have had at a dog show in a very long time. I will miss you Peanut, Charlotte, Mariah, and Colt. You left us much too soon, but you impacted every handler in Central Texas and you will all be remembered. Trials will not be the same without you.

Sweet Dreams Miss Hannah

We'll be missing Hannah at our shows. Here is a picture of Hannah with Frank, Maggie, and Lexi. Always the ladies man I guess. She was born the same year as Jake and Woody.

TACH

Two of our agility buddies achieved a TACH this past weekend. Lexi was the first TACH in Texas and Mariah was the second.

My good friends Jennifer and Steve lost their beloved Bonnie. She was a racing Greyhound who was lovingly rescued by Steve when she was no longer of value. Changing careers, she found her true calling. She became a valued family member and lived a full life. She couldn't have found a better home.

Remembering Phoebe

Cousin Phoebe

Today Phoebe lost her battle with pancreatitis. She was just visiting us over Christmas. Phoebe was a delight. Playful. Inquisitive. Friendly. Sweet. You couldn't ask for more in a pet. She left much too soon.

My friend Jennifer lost her Baby Girl yesterday. Baby was 16 years and 9 months old. Here are some photos from Jake and Woody's 3rd birthday party in 2000.

Shane's Uncle Sizzle

I had the great honor to have run Sizzle at a workshop that I attended. Karen Holik and Joan Meyer came to Florida two years in a row while I lived there. Woody wasn't doing something right and Karen offered to let me run Sizzle so I could see how it was supposed to be done. What a rush. At those two workshops, I got to meet Sizzle, Shane's uncle, and Dustin, Shane's grandpa. What a small world it is.

Cousin Phoebe

Last Christmas, Frank's sister, Vicki, and her husband, Neal, flew Phoebe out to meet her new step-cousin, Shane. We all had quite a time in the backyard on the agility equipment.

Phoebe is the cutest wire-hair fox terrier and she is a year older than the Blues Brothers. Considering this was her first time with three shelties, she did very well.

This is my favorite picture of Phoebe when she was a puppy. Is there anything cuter? Here is Phoebe later on. Still pretty darn cute!
