Graduation Day

I never thought this day would come. We've been rained out a few times, but Monday night was glorious. Shane has graduated from DePaw Agility Training Center's Sequencing II class. This series of classes has been excellent. I feel so lucky to be living in Austin and having Gerry Brown as a trainer.

I was so worried about Shane's performance in this class that I also had him enrolled in a class at Hearts and Paws. Shane was doing full courses before he even started the beginning class, so I guess I cheated a little.

For our final class, we ran a full course. We had one bobble, when I failed to pull Shane to a jump and he went instead to the obstacle right in front on him. He does take the thing he sees, so I need to be as quick as him.

Shane's next big event is his neutering on Thursday. I'm anxious about it as I don't want to slow him down, but Joy Bishop told me that Shane's uncle, Sizzle, was neutered at this same age, and he is on the World Team this year. Shane's dad, Keen, isn't neutered, and Joy told me that he is attacked by border collies at shows, even when he is sitting between her legs. The power of those gonads.
