Anyone for Tea?

My good friends, Debbi and Ragni, hosted a Tea Cup Agility seminar and show last weekend. I decided to enter Maggie just for fun, but when Frank decided to come along, I also had to enter Shane. A fun family outing on a Saturday night!

After the seminar, we got a chance to try out the equipment and it was a hoot. Everything was so tiny. I really didn't think Shane would do any of it, but he did! Maggie seemed a bit leary, but she caught on as well.

Our first run was a game called Lucky 13. There was so much math involved that I just shut down. Finally got a plan in my head and out we go. I thought we had blown it, but Shane got 3rd place and Maggie got 2nd place and her first Q. I had so much fun running with Maggie. She's just what I needed. I even had fun with Shane. The jumps were so close together that he couldn't run flat out, which is when he starts knocking bars. We screwed up the Standard course because neither dog would go through the itty-bitty tire at the end of the run.

One bittersweet moment occurred when I realized that this was the first show where Frank and I could both enjoy the show. Before, Jake and Woody would bark at each other so I had to make sure we crated away from the ring. I had to fret the entire time. Frank could never watch the runs because the dogs would run toward him. With Shane and Maggie, we don't have to worry about any of that. Frank could video us standing right next to the ring.
