It's not you; it's me

So I know I'm not an athletic person. I shot up like a reed in elementary school and have never been a limber person. Couldn't do a thing in gym class. I did, however, become pretty good at aerobics in the 80's and step aerobics in the 90's. When it came to agility, I had a rough time. It took me awhile to get the front cross down and I still feel pretty awkward doing it.

So this past week, we took our relatives on a segway tour of Austin. We got a chance to practice in the store, maneuvering around cones. I was slow, but I did it. Exiting the store, we head up 6th street. At the first crossing, we have to go down a little slope and then up a rise in the road. I watched everyone ahead of me do it just fine. Me. I head down the little slope and the thing kinda stops, so I lean forward a little, but the thing starts to shake and wobble, and I instinctively try to get off, which is something they tell you not to do, and I fall over the thing smack onto the road in front of a car waiting to turn. Brother. My leg is abrased. My pride is bruised.

So Shaneybug, it's me. Not you.
