Singular. One dog.
It's been a long time since we had just one dog. Last evening we walked our dog and it was pretty nice. Shane is a dog. Jake and Woody were fussy strange creatures. As we walked we shared Woody stories. By the end of the walk we were laughing instead of crying.
Shane is very subdued. He knew something was wrong with Woody and now he's not around anymore. Shane got to eat in the house for the first time last night. I had to keep him separate because he eats everything in his path, and Jake and Woody picked at their food taking forever to eat.
Woody had a mourning period when Jake passed and I'm sure Shane will have one too, but hopefully it won't manifest itself in the same way. Woody developed some weird behavior with the chute. He would rub on the fabric, either in the chute or on top. In Kerrville, two weeks ago, he almost did it again. Maybe Shane will calm down for his mourning. That would be a nice thing.
