The Iceman Cometh

Introducing Kimi! Named after one of our favorite Formula 1 drivers, Kimi Raikkonen, aka The Iceman.

I was not looking to get a puppy. In fact, I had sworn off shelties altogether. Two weeks ago, I got to meet Kay's new litter and my heart started to open up. Two other people mentioned other sheltie puppies also. It's like the skies opened up and rained sheltie puppies down on me. It had to be a sign.

I brought Kimi home Sunday after the show in San Antonio. The ride home was uneventful. Introductions went OK although Maggie was a bit afraid. Pottying went OK as well. Kimi spent the night in our bed taking turns snuggling against our legs.

In the morning, we all went outside and everyone peed and pooped in unison. Sight to behold. After walking Maggie and Shane, I took Kimi outside and we walked a bit down the road and practiced Sit in the driveway. The rest of the day was spent playing. We had a little accident right before bed but it was all my fault for not taking him outside.

So in the morning, as soon as Kimi stirred, we ran outside. Kimi went nuts at something in the bushes, or perhaps my shadow. Too many distractions and it took forever for him to potty. Good thing his bark is cute for now! We had another session of walking and sitting. He's a quick learner.  Lots of good times ahead.
