Sunday, on the drive to the fairgrounds, Maggie May played on the radio. That was an omen to me. Today was going to be a good day and it was a good day. We finally qualified in STD with a 2nd place in EXC A. We barely made time, but she had the most amazing weaves that I've ever seen her do in competition. We lost time on the dog walk and teeter. She was pretty pokey in JWW. We were clean but over time. As I was standing talking to other competitors, Maggie puked. I guess an upset belly would make me run slow too.
Our big breakthrough this week was Vicks. A friend told me to put Vicks on Maggie's nose to mask the smells in the ring. She said conformation people do it all the time. I think it worked a little. She still sniffed a little bit, but that might have been stress. It's so hard to tell which is which. The arena was full of new smells. I did have very clear sinuses all weekend and my car smells like Vicks now.
Maggie spends her afternoons guarding her chewies
