Friday
Our first run was Starters Gamblers. Maggie was moving and I had high hopes, but I did not put myself in the proper position and we blew the Gamble. Next up was Snooker and we blew through the course. 1st and Q! Last was Jumpers and Maggie was on fire again. 3 seconds under course time. 1st and Q! What a great day. When we got home, Maggie raced around the yard like her tail was on fire. I wish she would burn that stress off in the ring. She is one fast dog when she is not stressing.
Saturday
My alarm didn't go off. I raced around loading the car and risked getting a speeding ticket on our way to the show. Got there in time to walk the course once while I left the dogs in the car. Had the Performance dogs to get through while I unloaded everyone. Grabbed Maggie and ran into the ring. She ran around one jump. 3 seconds over time. That definitely wasn't worth risking a speeding ticket.
Performance Speed Jumping was next. The course was very flowy, which is what Maggie likes. Even though I didn't feel ready to try, I gathered up the courage. Maggie did great. We were slow, but finished with a good time. 3rd place Q! What a high!
On our streak, we are up for Gamblers next and she got it! 1st and Q! My high quickly plummeted when we tried the Grand Prix. Maggie was so pokey that we were 20 seconds over course time. It was excruciating. She did everything clean though. Lots of twists and turns, which she doesn't like and we were in a different ring. She is such a puzzle.
Last run of the day was Standard. All I wanted was a down on the table and she gave it to me. Unfortunately, she also knocked a bar on the triple. Oh well. Can't have it all.
Sunday
I decided to move Maggie to P1 after she got her Starters titles, so we did P1 Pairs. Our partner was a bit pokey so I was sure we were over time, but no! 2nd and Q! In Starters Standard, the table was right next to the Master ring and Maggie would not go down. I got her into a sit and on we went. NQ. The Speed Jumping Finals were next. The fastest dog had gone home, so Maggie's incredibly pokey time got us second place and $13 dollars. Last run was Snooker and we got 37 points exactly. 1st and Q.
Six qualifying runs, four blue ribbons, two new titles, and $13. What a great weekend. The rest of the year we are doing AKC, which is where Maggie is happiest. Looking forward to the next show.
I've learned to take the ribbons to where Maggie is
rather than dragging her over to pose for a picture.
