Last Dance Last Chance for Qs

Taking a little break from agility trials for a few months. Three weekends in a row really takes its toll. We went to the Georgetown Show Barn for a NADAC trial. It was the hottest and most humid weekend I could remember.

Saturday
First run was Novice Jumpers. Maggie was flying - 3.94 yps. 1st and Q. I ran Shane for the first time in a long while and he did pretty well. At the end, he stopped before the last jump and I picked him up. I've found if I force him to do something, he tends to run off in a bad way. Next run was Chances and we didn't stand a chance. Shane did pretty well, but knocked some bars. I can't get up the speed with Maggie May. We'll keep trying though. Touch and Go was magical. Maggie got 1st and Q. Shane was flying and I wasn't in place to get him to turn off the Aframe to the finish. He got all the contacts though. Maggie aced Regular 1 and could have aced Regular 2, but I forgot a major chuck of the course. I thought it went pretty fast.... 90 faults Jerry. 90 faults. Shane did pretty well too. I am using a hand touch at the end of the run to get him to come to me.

Sunday
Fun day!  Shane nailed Open Weavers and Tunnelers! 5.75 yps in Tunnelers. I wish those courses would go on forever. He is just so fast. 1st and Q in both. Maggie got 1st and Q in Novice Weavers, but she was too pokey in Tunnelers. Maggie got 1st and Q in Regular 3. Last run was Jumpers and Shane knocked a few bars, but did pretty well. Maggie was too slow. She was just spent as was I.

Great weekend. Maggie got 3 titles and 5 blue ribbons. Shane got 2 blue ribbons and behaved himself. No drama. Good way to end. Our next trial is July 4th weekend. Lots of house projects and a vacation coming up. We need the rest. I couldn't even wake up Maggie for her photo op, but Shane is always ready for the camera.
