I've been so excited about this show for weeks now. Maggie's first NADAC show! I wasn't sure she was ready, but I had to try.
Maggie got a Q in Weavers and Jumpers. She was clean most of the weekend, but too slow. She is still stressing a bit, so at least I know what to work on. I don't think she's ready for USDAA or AKC quite yet, but we'll still try NADAC again in August.
Jump, Sniff, Sniff, Sniff, Jump
Sunday, I couldn't get Maggie to poop and I was worried that she might do it in the ring like she did at the TDAA show. I walked her up and down the road for hours and got nothing. I'm sure that wore her out, which is why she was so bad on Sunday. We still had a good time. (Oh and Sharon gave me a match to stick up Maggie's arse, which I can't believe I did, and it didn't work anyway. I was a wreck after that thinking that I'd initiated the launch sequence and shit would fly during the next run. Thankfully nothing happened at the show, but I was a bit concerned when nothing happened when we got home either. Finally, this morning we produced.)
Shane was great! I was able to keep him from running off after every single run. He knocked bars all weekend, but that was expected. His specialties are Weavers and Tunnelers and he just flew! 5.31 and 5.46 yps respectively. I feel so confident that I can control him now. He did not run off once and the couple of times that he looked like he was going to, Leave It worked like a charm. Frank didn't tape Shane's Tunnelers run, but it was exhilarating. Just my favorite thing ever.
30 Seconds of Pure Joy
While we didn't sweep the show like I dreamt, we did have a very good time and managed to bring home a few ribbons. Poor Maggie hates to have her picture taken, as you can see by the position of her ears.
