Another thing I noticed was that I've spent so much time and energy getting him to want to be with me, that I think he's lost his distance abilities. Dangnabbit. I've also trained my recall so hard that when I said "Come" he came right to me rather than turning towards me and missed going into tunnels. I guess I'll have to use a different word. We had a great time even though we didn't Q hardly at all. Got one dirty Q and one 5 point Q. Dog Walk contacts were spot on, but he's still jumping over that white line on the NADAC AFrame. Knocked bars and missed tunnels. Oh my.
Another fun aspect to the weekend was that it was Maggie's first time on a trip. She had a little struggle with the elevator, but I think she'll be fine. We took lots of walks around the barn and played a little in the practice area. I can't wait until she's ready to show.
Still dealing with Shane's Early Takeoff Syndrome. He does better at 12 inches, but he's still knocking bars. He did better later in the day when he was tired and probably slower. I got overly confident a month ago and entered in at 16 inches this coming weekend. We are going to do jump chutes this week and assess on Friday. I may just bail from the show.
