So after the bout of diarrhea and vomiting last week, we are off our raw diet. Back to canned food. I tried to find a low fat dry food for Shane, but wasn't happy with the choices. He seems to be losing weight now that we are back on green beans. We also use the Frisbee for treats during practice at home, but he knows when I have actual treats in my pocket at the field, so the Frisbee doesn't work there. Also, our treat budget has significantly shrunk.
As part of our response to the economic crisis, I bought different chewies. An entire bag for the price of one Merrick Flossie. Of course, Shane hasn't touched the darn thing in two days. We need to cut back little boy. You must chew the cheap chewie. At $3 a day for a darn chewie, you are consuming our new grocery budget. But, I will give in and order another case of the expensive ones. Teenagers.
Woody is at the vet today getting his teeth cleaned. My budget won't handle Shane for a few months, but his teeth look pretty good. I've been dreading this day as I fear the anesthesia will be too much for Woody, but he needs to get his teeth cleaned. To top it off, we are driving to the vet in the dark, as we did every day for a week with Jake, and Jake's tribute song comes on the radio. The song stops as we pull into the parking lot. Is this a sign? Am I doing the right thing? The vet assures me that he is the only procedure today, so all eyes will be on him. Everyone there knows Woody, so he's in good hands. I will still worry all day.
