Nature

I pick up poops in the backyard every day to keep the fly population down. I've always wondered why some poops were disintegrating while others remained intact. Today I find one turd being devoured by three little black beetles. I was mesmerized watching them tear off a chunk and roll it away. I thought perhaps they were taking it back to their nest, but one of them made a U-turn and rolled his piece back to the main turd. Another beetle just abandoned his turd ball and burrowed into the grass. I started to feel a bit weird watching beetles eat a turd, so I went back inside to work.

I always wondered why you never see turds in the woods given all the wild life around. Beetles. Another gift of nature.

Speaking of gifts. This morning on our walk, Shane heard a dog barking in a house and sat down to wait for his treat. A break through. Our little boy might be growing up finally.
