Poop Chute

This past weekend, Shane popped out of the weave poles for the first time EVER. I was just mortified. That was the one thing I could always count on. Shane weaves like a MF. He not only popped out, he backed up and stared at the poles like they were radioactive. He approached them cautiously and started sniffing around the base of the poles. I pulled him back and got him going again. Since this was Gamblers, I turned him around, started through again and he pops out a second time. Also staring at the poles as if in fear. So, after the run I go back to my chair and sulk. I watched the other runs and no one else had trouble with the weaves. I thought maybe someone had peed on them, but apparently not. Something smells a bit off. Look down at my shoe and there it is. My left shoe is completely covered with a turd of unknown origin. Washed my shoe off and the weave poles were not an issue the rest of the weekend.

A few weeks ago, I wrote that Shane popped out of a tunnel because of the smell of the poop stuck in his fur.

At the back of the arena, there was a pen full of cows. Shane became very docile every time we walked around the back near the cows. Thought maybe the loud moos were affecting him, but now I think it was the stench. Perhaps that was a cow patty on my shoe? After two days, the cows were taken away, and then I noticed the hogs. Man, what a stink. Shane backed up from that pen like those hogs were wired with explosives. I think Shane is a little odor sensitive, as well as sound sensitive. Of course, he barked at the horses. The animal most likely to boot his little tush into oblivion.
