Shake That Money Maker

Finally Shane is an earner! We finished 4th in the Steeplechase Finals and received $8.00. I have never made it to the Steeplechase Finals and it was a real rush. Saturday, our run in round 1 was magnificent, but Frank wasn't there to capture it. We had the fastest time, but knocked a bar, which put us into 2nd place. Saturday was a great day. Three Q's and two blue ribbons. Sunday, our runs were chock full of goofs and Frank was there to capture the entire thing on video. Lucky me. Not sure how to spend Shane's first paycheck. His favorite chewy costs $3.99, so perhaps I'll buy two.
Saturday
Starters Standard was first. I did my best to wear Shane out in the short time we had, but it didn't help. Our run was a total mess and Shane wouldn't go down on the table. We ate up a lot of time, but still had the fastest time of all the dogs, but with all our faults, ended up in 4th place. Our next run was Starters Pairs. We had the pleasure of pairing with Robert and Rocket Man, who was running in his very first trial. Shane knocked a bar, but we still got 1st place and a Q. We were so happy to participate in Rocket's first Q in USDAA.

Starters Snooker. 1st place with a Q. Finished our title! Steeplechase Round 1. 2nd place with a Q. Thought that might help us with Starters Jumpers, but no luck. Knocked a bar and ended up in 2nd place.

Sunday
Frank and Woody came with us today. A lot of people stopped me to say hello to Woody, which brought a tear to our eyes. Woody absolutely hates to be in a crate, so I'm not sure he had a good time. Also, Shane growled at Woody every time we put him in the crate. They cuddled all day, so not sure what that growl is about. At one point, Woody had his head on Shane's back.

Our runs today were a total mess. Starters Jumpers. Knocked a bar, but had the fastest time. 2nd place. Starters Snooker, jumped the second red twice and got whistled off after 9 points. 4th place. Advanced Gamblers. Not enough points and missed the gamble. 3rd place. Starters Standard. Wouldn't go down on the table and slipped off the dog walk contact. Gasps from the audience. Oh well. Didn't wait around for the results. Lucky for me..... Frank captured it all on video.
