Caturday

Saturday was full of fun stuff. Our morning walks were glorious. I took Shane out to the busy road again and we played lots of distractions while trucks were speeding past. We walked by several dogs, some jogging with their owners, without incident. I feel we are making great progress.

I had decided not to go to the show this weekend and it just killed me. I feel like I've been through some sort of detox. I'm glad we didn't go though. Shane still won't come to me to have his leash put on, even though we have lots of fun once it's on.

Later in the afternoon, we went out side to play. As we were going inside, I noticed a cat near the deck. Shane had a Frisbee in his mouth. He started to chase the cat, hanging onto the Frisbee the entire time, and the cat ran up a tree. I got the boys inside and watched the little cat climb higher and higher. I got nervous and decided to go out back and try to help it get down. As I opened the gate to the backyard, there is another cat in the yard. What? We have dogs in here. This is the last backyard you want to be in. Put the cat out of the yard and headed for the tree. The little cat is definitely scared. The wind is blowing the the branches are swaying. I managed to talk it down after a little while and got it out of the yard. Why people let their cats run around loose is beyond me.

Later that night on our walk, which had been without incident so far, Shane stiffened and started pulling. Ahead is yet another cat loose in someone's front yard. Managed to get Shane past that as well. Actually, not too worried about Shane attacking the cat. More vice versa. I don't need cat scratches on my dog. Sorry cat people.
