Shane's First Title!

After knocking a bar Saturday in Nov B JWW (4 yps), Shane managed to keep his feet up in the air Sunday to get his third JWW leg for his first title. We had one refusal, which I don't recall so not sure where it happened, but who cares at this point. He is so freaking fast. Good genes and good training. Thanks to his mom and dad, Fancy and Keen, for the genes, and DePaw Agility and Gerry Brown for the fabulous training. Shane got his first title at 21 months. To give it perspective, Jake and Woody didn't get their NAJ until they were 6 years old, and they started training when they were 2 years old. If only they had trained with Gerry too.....

STD is still a mess. He still jumps off the teeter and we missed the Aframe contacts both days. He just gets so excited at these shows. He was 30 seconds faster than his competitors. Doesn't do any of this stuff at home or at class. I guess I just need to keep going to shows to get him acclimated.

Woody did not have a good weekend at all. He was so slow and ran past several jumps. The surface was very rocky, so I'm not sure if it was that or not. He is 10.5 years old, so perhaps he just wasn't feeling it. I have him in one more AKC show, so we'll see how it goes. He may be ready to retire.

Couldn't keep Woody out of the picture. I guess he's trying to win by association. Usually, I have to force Woody to pose, but he wouldn't get out of the way.
Other than that, Frank and I had a really good time. Stayed close to the Woodlands Mall north of Houston so we could eat well and that we did. Had a fabulous meal at Jasper's Saturday night. The Market Street at the Woodlands is a good place to spend an evening.
