Literally.
I've been feeding everyone Primal Chicken and Duck since the big scare. It costs a fortune every week, but I have peace of mind. They get raw food and no teeth are broken on bones, like Woody experienced. Many months of liver problems before we discovered a broken infected tooth. Ugh.
Anyway. The pet store had only one bag of chicken, so I thought I would try the lamb. Mistake. The first night, everyone threw up their dinner. What a mess. I had been trying out ZiwiPeak, which is lamb mostly, to use when we travel. Perhaps too rich? All weekend, puke everywhere. Trying to figure out who is sick. Can't be them all.
Took everyone to the show on Sunday. Feed them ZiwiPeak in the morning. Everyone seemed fine. Got home, more puke. Gave them rice and some Primal Chicken for dinner. Shane puked again. Now I'm worried. I decided if he puked in the morning, we were going to the vet.
Overnight, diarrhea in the living room. Man what a stink. Gave Shane rice and Primal Chicken for breakfast. Up it comes, but he eats most of it before I discover him. Making myself sick right now. Make an appointment. No poop all day.
Poor Shane. Everyone just raves about how beautiful he is while they are shoving instruments up his bum. No parasites. No bacteria. Perhaps something he gobbled up? Perhaps a blockage, but the vet said if there is poop, it's OK. We decide that if he continues, to bring him back in the morning for an x-ray. We go home with bland food and flagyl.
He gets into the house and runs around. Trouble.... Let him outside and he explodes. What a mess. We go inside and have a flagyl and supper. He starts chasing Jake around the house like a Tasmanian devil. We play Frisbee and take a walk. All is fine. Cross your fingers that we make it through the night with no accidents. I've restocked my accident kit - yes it happens so much that I have an actual kit.
Anyway, thinking back, I remember Woody and Shane eating something off the sidewalk before I could stop them. That's probably what got this all started. They are so fussy when it comes to new treats (they've snubbed many a vendor), but crap on the sidewalk, now that's a delicacy.
